Unit Replacement

What is an insulated unit?

An insulated unit consists of two (or sometimes three) pieces of glass separated by a spacer bar, sealed with a polysulfide sealant. The inside of the spacer bar may include a desiccant to remove any moisture that can become trapped between the panes. This airgap provides superior heat retention, but can eventually lead to cloudy looking, 'failed' windows. This failure happens when the glue holding the unit together ages, and loses contact with the glass, allowing moisture to get in between the panes of glass. Replacing failed windows improves the look and value of any home.

We have experience identifying and replacing failed insulated units in all kinds of frames, whether they be vinyl, metal, wood or fiber glass.

Failed insulated units can be more than just an eyesore, they can reduce the efficiency of the insulation of your home, raising your heating and air conditioning bills. Having your insulated replaced by Avalon Glass is a quick and easy way to save on your utilities, and get your home looking brand new again.

Vinyl windows are the most common type found in modern homes, though we also have experience replacing units in metal or wood frames. Avalon Glass will go the extra mile to make sure your frame is clean and undamaged before installing the new unit. This means the install is done right the first time!
